XLMS™ is a standard XML Web Service which uses SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol).
XLMS™ provides developers with the following benefits:

- Multiple toolkits available which automatically generate the code to call XLMS™
- Can be programmed in any language capable of sending HTTP requests
Pathlore's XLMS™ Web Service has custom and generic service descriptions and enhanced human readable
documentation which reduce the amount of coding necessary and provide increased Intellisense
and compile time support.
Scalability
XLMS™ works using the same infrastructure as the Pathlore LMS. As a result, XLMS™ can be easily configured to
meet your company's specific usage needs.
- XLMS™ can be installed stand-alone on a web server
- XLMS™ can be installed across a web farm.
- XLMS™ can be configured to use one or more dedicated Application Server Instances.
Security
XLMS™ uses the same business logic as the Pathlore LMS to enter and retrieve information.
- XLMS™ provides the same robust authentication mechanism as the LMS
- XLMS™ provides the same data input validation as the LMS
- XLMS™ can be configured to restrict access to web methods depending on the role of the authenticated user
