What is Pathlore's reporting strategy?
Customers that use the Pathlore LMS with MSDE, Oracle, or MS SQL Server will need to use a third-party reporting tool such as Crystal Reports. Pathlore supplies reporting templates that are developed using Crystal Reports. Pathlore will continue to develop new reporting templates using Crystal Report software.
What is the difference between Crystal Reports and Crystal Enterprise?
Crystal Reports and Crystal Enterprise are software products from Crystal Decisions, Inc. Crystal Reports allows the editing and creation of reporting templates. Crystal Enterprise provides a simplified way to publish Crystal Report templates to a web site. Crystal Enterprise is the web-publishing piece that allows on-demand reporting over the web.
What edition of Crystal Reports works with the Pathlore LMS?
Crystal Reports is available in several different editions. The editions include Standard, Professional, Development, and Advanced. The minimum edition required for the Pathlore LMS is Crystal Reports Professional Edition.
What edition of Crystal Enterprise works with the Pathlore LMS?
Crystal Enterprise is available in several different editions. The editions include Report Application Server, Standard, and Professional. The recommended edition for the Pathlore LMS is Crystal Enterprise Professional Edition.
What version of Crystal Reports works with the Pathlore LMS?
Crystal Reports Professional version 8.5 or 9.0
What version of Crystal Enterprise works with the Pathlore LMS?
Crystal Enterprise Professional version 8.0 or 9.0
NOTE: Crystal Reports version 8.5 works with Crystal Enterprise 8.0
Crystal Reports version 9.0 works with Crystal Enterprise 9.0
Will the Crystal Reports version 8.5 templates supplied with the Pathlore LMS work with Crystal Reports version 9.0?
Yes. Crystal Reports 9.0 provides the ability to open and save older templates in the new format. When older versions of Crystal templates are saved in the new version, formatting modifications may be required to the templates. Report files (.rpt) created, modified, and saved in Crystal Reports 9 cannot be published to Crystal Enterprise 8.5 and 8.
Does Pathlore supply any Crystal Report Templates? Where are they?
The Pathlore LMS installation CD includes more than 50 commonly used reporting templates. These templates can be modified using Crystal Reports.

What is Pathlore's recommended third-party reporting tool?
Pathlore's recommended third-party reporting tool is Crystal Reports from Crystal Decisions. http://www.crystaldecisions.com/products/buy/Default.asp
Do we have to use Crystal Reports as our reporting tool?
No. However, Crystal Reports is Pathlore's recommended reporting tool. You can also use any other third-party reporting tool that works with MSDE, MS SQL Server or Oracle.
